Daily Devotional for April 8

​

April 8                                                               Luke 4:1-13

                           Pastor

                       When I took this job
                            They never said
              About Mrs. Talbot's seductive
                                  Overtures.
             Or what to say to Julie Wilson
              When she lost the second baby
                          (By her boyfriend).
                    What about David Martin,
 Who can't (?) keep his hands off his niece?
             No one questions my discretion
                   With discretionary funds
           Or suspects my midnight visitors.
                           Is there someone
           Who would hear my own confession
                  And re-subscribe to trust?

Dear Creator,
We deal every day with our own temptations no less than with
those of others. My prayer is to be delivered from my own,
of course. But even more, I pray that my struggles not blind
me to the chance to help others learn from their own. And
that my struggles not cause some to walk further from you
than they already were before being in my company. Please,
protect people from any mistaken advice or influence I may
offer from my areas of blindness.
