Daily Devotional for April 15
April 15 Luke 5:27-39
V. A. Hospital
His dry, fleshless finger
Touched her face - fresh, lineless cheek -
And bade her
"Get out of here. You're young.
There are so many babies and young ones
To hold your time and trouble.
Find them.
Leave us here to smoke and laugh and cough.
We have many old jokes among us.
Find the children. There
You may work your magic to cure,
Or grow sad and weary
Beside them."
Dear Creator,
Help me to invest carefully, wisely, and generously. I know
that it does no good to spend my resources on those who can-
not grow or will not hear. The trouble is that I can't seem to
tell the difference between those who will someday use what
I offer and those who cannot accept anything. I want to give
the benefit of the doubt, but I want to do it without emptying
my coffers to unreceptive people, and then dying myself. Gen-
erosity, energy, kindness and discernment. I know it's a pretty
tall order, but I think I'm short on all of them. Thank you.
