Butler P-Flag October 9, 2011

George represented MCC at the Butler PFLAG Coming Out Day celebration today (Saturday;) He spoke to many people about MCC and gave out a lot of our literature.

(In George's words...) They made a "closet" so you could have your picture taken "coming out"--I decided to explode out .

2009 Pride

Don & Rob welcome you to Pittsburgh Pride.

Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh was gayer than 'Queer as Folk' ever imagined!

Rainbows were everywhere... except in the sky... the weather was perfect!

I'm sure that's only water in that bottle.

A Thanksgiving feast the Pilgrims would envy.

Rev. Dunn welcomes everyone.

We bid Tim and Brian farewell as they move to Florida.

A cake was only the smallest token of our appreciation for all their work for the church.

After unloading one ton of food a few days before for the MCC foodbank, a gang now loads some of that food for the 72 Christmas bags made at Shepherd Wellness.

SGI (Strategic Goals Initiative)

Many in the congregation spent the better part of their weekend working on our new Vision Statement, Core Values and Mission Statement.  (Click on a picture to enlarge.)

Joyce, Joseph, Rev. Dunn, Rev. Ackerman and Lou were just part of the team that worked on our new initiative.

Sunday afternoon a smaller group pounded out some of the details of the goals set Friday and Saturday.  Starting clockwise from the empty chair: Rev. Elder Ackerman, Elaine, Joyce, Lou, Rev. Dunn, Mike, and Brian (and Louie, taking the picture).

Rev. Elder Arlene Ackerman, our guide for the weekend, gave the inspiring sermon on Sunday evening "Commissioned".

Noel performs "Make Us One" at the evening service.  (When he chose this title he didn't know our new Vision Statement included 'Unity in Diversity'!)
